Hello, I’m Gillian Finch.

I’ve been drawing and painting animals for as long as I can remember, driven by the satisfaction of capturing an expression or behaviour that I’ve observed.

I now produce animal portraits from my studio in the Highlands and love working with families to commemorate and celebrate their beloved pets.

My Process

Here’s how we’ll work together to create your perfect piece:

  • When you get in touch with your request I’ll ask you to provide some reference photos of your animal(s). Please refer to my photography guide for help when taking these photos.

  • We’ll chat through your requirements and review the images you’ve sent to pick the best one to create your painting from.

  • At this point I’ll give you an approximate timescale to complete your piece, and confirm the final cost. As part of my payment terms I request 50% upfront.

  • I’ll share regular updates with my progress.

  • When you’re happy with your painting I’ll arrange delivery.

My Prices

The price of your painting will be based on the size of the piece, number of subjects in the portrait, and the painting medium.

Single subject watercolour portrait: start from £300.

Multiple subject watercolour portrait: start from £450.

Oil painting commissions available on request.
